About the Thematic Area

How can an interdisciplinary perspective deepen our insights into urban and regional governance? Governance is shaped by complex realities that cannot be fully understood from a single disciplinary angle. UGoveRN’s strength lies in bringing together diverse approaches, perspectives, and methods, creating a foundation for richer and more nuanced understandings of governance processes. This thematic area emphasizes the conviction that advancing and innovating governance requires interdisciplinarity to capture the depth of challenges cities and regions face.
