Discussion on governance innovation and social enterprise
The UGoveRN community had the honor of listening to the work of Federica Scaffidi, an Assistant Professor at the Institute of Urban Design and Planning of the Leibniz Universität Hannover, on June 16, 2022. Federica’s research is based on an interdisciplinary approach, adopting qualitative and quantitative methodologies and multi-level territorial analysis. Her research interests to date have addressed urban and rural development, sustainability, social innovation, and the recycling of neglected areas.

During the session, Federica discussed her work on governance innovation and the role that social enterprises play in driving it. Her insightful presentation shed light on the complex dynamics of governance innovation and how social enterprises can contribute to more inclusive and sustainable urban development.
Following the presentation, Francesca Ranalli kicked off the discussion on governance innovation. The discussion was lively, and various members of the UGoveRN community contributed their experiences from their research or hometowns to the discussion.
